Sanyo @ CES – Phone pr0n II, The Talby – Engadget – www.engadget.com
Wow, this looks like it might actually be a working phone. It appears the battery module can easily be swapped. In other words, one can get a larger one, and actually make a conversation without a dead battery.
Another cool thing is keypads based upon some type of ergonomic study, not a fashion one. I think I could actually press the right buttons with such a phone.
The other thing is a strap. Phone clips are junk imho. They slowly wear out, and then guess what. You find out when you go to use your phone, and its not there. My phone, an antique actually has an integrated carabiner. I can actually lock it onto my belt loops. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a camera, and I think that might be nice.
Another cool thing is a connector in a drawer. That way there is some level of ESD as well as physical protection. On my current phone, the connector is out in the open, just waiting for an ESD hit. Then again, most people probably don’t use their phones IO ports. I had to order cables from the factory, as no one stocked them.
