low cost IPOD style knob, and simple too

This is a slick unit, the QT510, and you can buy them from Digikey in low quantities for a song. I’ve often thought the Ipod wheel made a lot of sense, but the manufacturing complxities of fsr’s made it a challenge to replicate.

With QPROX technology, its going to be a lot easier, and practical for the low volume custom realm.

Big things to be concerned with when using the Qprox devices are power supply quality, and emc. One needs to be careful, make sure the power is clean, and apply some diligence for ESD protection.

I plan to fire one of these up sometime this month. Its just too cool to pass by.
