SEO Training – SEO Training Class – SEO Class

The classes are amazing, and one of the best educational investments I’ve have made in a very long time. There is no downside at all, other than the time commitment required, and the fact that you will get whacked upside the head when you realize all the mistakes you made. They are free from the standpoint of money. They are not free, from the standpoint of workload. You will work like a madman.

www.inventorsgarage.com has been up for almost 2 years, and we are currently running about 7000 visits/month. For the most part, this is due only to content, although we got off to a good running start due to techtv. Our growth certainly was not due to SEO, or graphics as is plainly evident!

When I took the class, I decided I would focus my energys on aeroinstructor’s forum. rather than here at www.inventorsgarage.com. The reason, I believe in testing, and I wanted to see how effective SEO techniques really are, especially for a new site. Aeroinstructor has only been live for slightly under 3 months. In addition, I was aware that since the mambo crash last May, that inventorsgarage was in a horrible state of organization.

In short order, it became evident that trying to focus on SEO for a forum would be a significant headache to start with. Thus my focus was changed to content for purposes of the class. This decision occured within the first hour!

Now, you may ask, how can I say the classes are amazing. This is where it gets tricky…. really tricky. The results I experienced are mindblowing. In fact, I debated whether to show them or not. I decided I would, but I do want to clarify a few things.

First of all, the site has extremely low traffic being new. Perhaps 1-3 unique visitors a day for the past 3 months. My only promo for the site has been on my group sigs, and a few blog articles here and there. The cool part is that over 50% of the readership adds it to their favorites. I guess thats one of the advantages of a super tight niche.

Secondly, I think the stats program is picking up some of my personal activity in editing and testing. I’m not totally convinced though, as most of my site edits occured last Tuesday. Although I did reload the forum on Wednesday night.

Thirdly, google, msn, and yahoo were already crawling the site every day. Thus if thats not already in place, SEO is not going to show very much until they spiders know you exist.

And alas, without further ado, the site stats.
