While Lumalite has had mixed reviews in the teen fashion world, it has a multitude of other applications. One of these being personal safety.

In the example they talk about runners, public service, and construction workers. I think what they are getting at is awareness and visbility, thus protecting these folks from being hurt or injured.<%image(20070310-luma.JPG|243|161|Lumalive Prototype)%>

I think one could take it to the next stage, and also include messages, especially in disaster response areas. In those cases, rather than simply being aware that an officer or ambulance crew was there, the ability to dispatch public service messages on so called “mobile billboards” might have some real potential in a large scale disaster response.
