I’ve been looking for a dual spray nozzle for a combined Veggie and Meat Wash idea. There is a patent assigned to MeadWestVaco Calmar, which presents a novel idea for dual spray. Of course, the problem is, beyond this garden chem sprayer, they have yet to make a COTS trigger nozzle. My guess is they probably are doing so as custom designed, being the bottle design is critical.
I also wondered why no one has brought to market a combined meat and veggie wash disinfectant, as the chemistry has been around, as well as journal citations as to its effectiveness for years. My guess is its a product safety issue, in that the combination of the two reagents, namely H2O2, and acetic acid ends up being a potentially explosive compound Peracetic Acid as well as a strong oxidizer.
Thus, this one probably remains in the world of industrial chem, and open source consumer based chemistry, due to such hazards. Of course, once sprayed as separate chemicals, paracetic acid is only present on the meat or produce, where it does its cleaning and disinfecting.
