Wow, they got mentioned in the NYT, thats pretty impressive. I bet Joe Born and crew are pretty busy. No doubt, their inquiry level is going to go through the roof.

This is way cool, that open source hardware is making it into the mainstream media. No doubt more than a few eyebrows have been raised in the public sector. When I first wrote on them in Nov 2004, I thought it was a cool project, and even more impressive the marketing folks jumped into a woot discussion in the middle of the night.

Now, I think with the OSD, they have something super impressive…. and more on the forefront, than the audio computer.

Here is a block diagram of the hardware. There is a fair amount of capability to make it go way beyond a media device…..
